Greta Maurangi : Butterfly Hair DPG

Greta is a single mum of two girls and started the business after moving back from Australia in late 2019. She did the ten-day workshop by Rebel Business School in Manukau in 2019.

Since doing the workshop in 2019 she has not only fully updated her website, added PayPal, set up a business bank account, but also has expanded her services. Her client base has increased (thanks to smart and strategic use of social media marketing) and being creative in pitching her services. She now not only provides mobile hairdressing services but also has started her own brand of Aftercare Hair products that have been hugely successful. She previously sold out two large orders and is in the process of ordering a third stock. Furthermore, she is in the midst of adding fake eyelashes and lip glosses as part of her product line.

Greta is very driven and focused on why she started Butterfly Hair DPG and where she wants to take it. She is very passionate about what she does and it shows in how she approaches her business. In her own words she wants to show her girls that one can achieve anything with passion and determination.

Below are her thoughts on becoming a woman entrepreneur:
I started this business motivated by my children Dallas and Paighton. And this is where my name DPg came from with the G standing for me Greta. I chose a butterfly as my symbol, as it represents a caterpillar, turning into a beautiful confident butterfly. And that is exactly what I do to each client that comes through. I make them look and feel beautiful. We at Butterfly Hair DPg believe that having good, healthy and trendy hair should be available to everyone as having a good hairstyle is a big part of someone’s personality. We are an Auckland based mobile Hairdressing service, providing a range of services and products including cut and blow wave , special occasion hair ups , colour package , hair care products, and individual eyelash extensions to customers, locally. Our aim is to save the client time, by taking the mobile hair service to the comfort of their space.

The Rebel Business School has been amazing. I am so grateful I had the opportunity of attending the workshop and working with my mentor through AWHI. They have given me the understanding, motivation to take my dreams for my business to places I would’ve never had the confidence to take it too. They gave me the right tools and guided me to the beginning of my business success.
