Kirsty Glasgow - Framed Alive
Kirsty Glasgow is the brains behind Framed Alive -where passion, plants and creativity, intertwine to produce living art in frames.
'Framed Alive is in essence about people, plants and passion. Where people are nurtured and plants are grown and used with passion, to make an artistic version of a vertical wall or an upcycled container. My life-long love of plants, wood and upcycling, along with training as a florist, working with people who are differently abled or in their senior years, as well as completing the Pop Up Business School in 2019, gave me the skills and knowledge to start my own small business doing what I loved. My family were supportive of my vision and Framed Alive was born. I use mainly succulents in my work as I absolutely adore the texture, color and form that they possess, however I am also trialing perennials and house plants as well. The ability to recycle products within my designs, making my business eco-friendly and sustainable, is a huge plus in an effort to help with climate change. I often hear Megan Parker’s (Wild about Flowers) words, come back to me, not only during the designing process, but also when finishing off a piece, as I always strive to produce quality, professional work, to ensure each piece’s longevity. Plants are loved by many and are good for your soul, so I hope to bring much love and happiness to those who are gifted or purchase one of my special pieces, even if it is just a small gesture. All pieces are totally customizable to your requirements of frame finish and plant and frame colors.' She was also finalist of the Electra Business and Innovation Awards for Kāpiti & Horowhenua 2020. And was nominated in the retail category of New/Emerging Innovation - during COVID-19. Website: https://framedalive.weebly.com/ |
