Pitching & Presenting

[memberonly label="free"]

Pitching your business

People pitch a business because they need resources.
  • If the goal is to raise start-up cash, the target of the pitch is an investor.
  • Other businesses pitch to potential customers to sell their product.
  • Some organizations pitch because they need a partner or resource to help them accomplish their mission.

The importance of practice

Learning how to properly pitch is one of the most important skills a founder needs to develop. It allows them to:
  • Sell their products and or services
  • Find investors
  • Attract great co-founders
  • Recruit the best employees, and
  • Fine-tune their idea.

A safe place to practice

For many years Toastmasters International has been one of those 'flying under the radar' organisations that has only one focus: enabling its members to be better communicators. You never know when you might be called on to pitch or present your business. As we say in the business school 'Prepare yourself, for one day your chance will come.' This quote is attributed to Abraham Lincoln.
